ALL THEIR CRIES WILL GO UNHEARD
He shook his head as he flew, why was he trying to justify what he had done? This was his fault, not Beartooths, not the war, certainly not Aya's fault either. He could not believe the guilt he felt, how heavy it weighed on him. Never had he felt this way, not with Guinevere when he defiled her at the border, not when he lit the bodies of his friends on fire in the field. He wanted so badly to tell Lahmer, she had become everything to him. To see her hurt would crush him, but what if she were to leave? What would he do? The questions circling his head only sparked fear, something else new to him. The giant never feared for anything, let alone for someone to leave his company.
As he finally carried himself to the borders, he could only picture the sadness in the Vampire Queens eyes as she saw the lifeless body of her sister in the arena. He hadn't just taken away a beloved aunt to his mate, he'd destroyed a soul that mattered to so many more. His eyes stared at the ground as he entered his homeland, and that was where his fears began to be met. ”BALERION!” His soulmate called for him, in a tone that sent fear down his spine. No, no she couldn't have found out. No way. His panic set in as he quickly carried himself to the den, watching as his children melted to the den. All he could see was the anger painted on his lovers face. Her swords out, breathing heavily to where he could see every breath in the cold like it's own avalanche about to blow him over.
”Just when, WHEN, were you going to tell me you killed my AUNT?! My BEST FRIEND?!” The Dreads eyes widened as she began to cry. He could feel his heart shatter for her. "I-I wanted to tell you but how could I?! It was-" He tried to continue, but she swiped at him. He accepted her punishment, taking the blow to the chest. ”Aya-“ She collided her claws with his skin once more, leaving little scratches to his shoulder. ”Aya didn’t deserve such a horrific DEATH!” He took another of her beating on him before he spoke back to her, pain in his eyes. "Do you not think I know that?! Do you think I would have done so if I knew who she was to you?! It was killing me, and I kept it a secret to try and save it from killing you!" He yelled back at her, pain crackling his deep voice as he got closer to her. Towering over her frame.
”I’m going home tonight.” His posture stiffened as he locked eyes with her, feeling everything around him begin to melt away. His heart was breaking at her words as he felt hot tears brim his eyes. "Then f*cking go." He growled from under his mask, his brows furrowing before he leapt into the air. He would not let her see him cry. He would not be labeled weak, not to her, not to anyone. His black frame disappeared into the sky like a shadow in the night, taking him outside of Tarben to let his anger and anguish out.
