Rhea heard movement inside of the den, which started as just some shuffling to possibly the new alphess bolting out of the den. Rhea braced herself – surely that bolting reaction was not good. The pure white femme was greeted by a brown furred lass, who surely had to be a few years younger than Rhea herself. Rhea, if she really felt like it, could pull the ‘respect your elders’ card, but rather, the white femme remained calm, keeping her brown eyes locked onto this girl’s blue eyes as she yelled at Rhea, even stepping closer. ”Who do you think you are and what do you think you're doing?! This is Nightingale territory, and you don't just waltz in like you own the place! What is your name?!” Rhea refused to show weakness. She had been living in these lands for months…if anything, the new wolves were the intruders. But Rhea was one for peace and would try her best to keep it. Just as she was about to speak, a little pup had emerged from the den. ”Mother? What’s going on?” he spoke, only to be dismissed by the brown femme. ”Nothing Rambaldi, just an intruder.” Intruder?! This made Rhea’s patience start to wear thin. If any of the wolves here had the most loyalty to Nightingale, it was Rhea. She had been here as the leadership changed, and as the lands were abandoned. But, Rhea being persistent, kept her body language calm, aside from the momentary look of offended confusion upon the word intruder being thrown about. The brown female spoke once more. ”Are you wishing to join this pack or not? In case you didn't know, you call in at the borders.” Rhea could not help but furrow her eyebrows at this point, but waited patiently for the female to calm down, refusing to move from her position. Any movement surely would agitate the mother even more, and Rhea could tell there was more under the surface. Taking a breath, Rhea spoke. ”First, respectfully, I’ve been residing in these lands for months now as is. I’ve seen the rulership change but also periods of inactivity, to which I swear I was the only one here. I only just recognized the new presences here, including yours, moments ago in my own den. I figured to be respectful, I’d come introduce myself. Understandably, you did not recognize me, and the fact you have children of your own makes your reaction very reasonable. But, considering I have been here for so long, my scent has intermingled with that of Nightingale, and maybe you have not become all too familiar with the uniqueness of flora in the forests of Nightingale.” Rhea paused, sighing, looking down at the ground for a moment before looking back up. ”I did not mean to frighten you, only just wanted to talk. I appreciate your defensiveness and your knowledge of pack etiquette, but in the same regard, I do not appreciate being yelled at, and it being assumed that I, a wolf a few years older than yourself probably, was unaware of pack etiquette, all before I could explain my side of the story.” Rhea then took a pause to smile, the green and gold flecks in her eyes in particular sticking out. ”It’s nice to meet you. I’m Rhea. My role in past hierarchies was healer, due to my expertise in flora. Nightingale is actually home to a lot of medicinal herbs.” Rhea paused once more, this time, giving a soft smile. ”I understand if you wish to banish me from these lands, but I would at least like to know the name of whom will be leading my past home.” She let her white tail wag softly as she sat, awaiting a response from the alphess before her.
