Irina breathed out a sigh as she realized Alistair was the wolf. “Never mind. Forgive me Alistair; there’s no need to be timid.” She glanced around her as he asked her his question. “Oh, I just felt like it-you know, with myself being a storm Elemental and all.” She tipped her head up, then violently shook her face as a raindrop plopped into her eye. “Ad. Yesli podumat', ya bol'she tak ne budu," she muttered.
Irina stood. She moved out of her raincloud toward Alistair; her pelt was soaked and shining with rain. “You look upset. What’s the matter?” She let the raincloud dissolve. A little rabbit raced in between them. Irina’s tail brushed one of the peonies; she turned toward it. The red flowers glistened like dark blood. A petal fell lightly from a blossom. She watched the digit slowly fall. Then she turned back to Alistair. “What’s on your mind?” She was not worried about him, exactly; it was more so that she really hated to see anyone in her pack under the weather. If she was the queen, then she could do something about it.
*“H e l l. Come to think of it, I won’t do that again.”
