The ocean was alluring. Raven stood in the sea, water up to her underbelly. She breathed in the salty air. She had left her pups in the den. The water called to her today.
She took another breath. But suddenly, she was swamped from the side by a huge wave. Raven choked, and suddenly she was underwater, struggling to draw in oxygen. Her head popped up. She swallowed water, and she went back under, fighting through the current. She tried to speak, but water flooded her lungs and filled her mouth. Raven’s vision spotted.
It was a mistake to come here. She could barely think. Her head dashed against the bottom and she was no more.
