The plague was over, the pack having taken a hard blow. Aegaeon, Danya’s lovely nephew - he was among the deceased, taken away much too soon. And Misty, Admon, Adonis . . . now Achilles and Aurora, she surmised, from Aeolus’ announcement and Aurora’s notable absence at the meeting. Aurora’s children - or most of them, anyway - remained; Bia, Marzanna, Aphrodite, Peitho. Frigg. Daneliya couldn’t remember if there were any more of them. She knew there had been Adonis, but he had died a while back.
She was proud of Derevko for proving herself enough to become a delta, of Remus for having served Achilles and Pandora faithfully. Daneliya’s nieces and nephews were sigmas and heirtheta now. Chickadee remained a sigma, but she was a good one, all energy and loyalty. And Daneliya herself? She was to be a zeta again. There were some new children, she knew. She hadn’t met them or their mother, and they didn’t seem to be here at the meeting.
