Khasinau turned at the voice of a girl. “Um . . . hello. I . . .” He regarded her. “I . . . I see we’re connected. I’m Apollonia, from Dawnshire. What’s your name?”
Khasinau cleared his throat softly. “My name is Khasinau. We’re allies, then. I live in Hawthorne, and I’m the nephew of the Vampire Queen.” He gave her a very tight smile. A Monokeros. She was pretty. He had to admit that she was rather cute, in the way that only your soulmate could be.
Khasinau didn’t know it now, but Apollonia would be good for him. Her fiery nature, paired with her loyalty, would convince him of her worth. In time, he would come to regard her as his equal. And she would be his one true love; his only. It would take some time, but he’d come around. He would be vastly different from the boy he was now, alone and bitter. It would all be because of Apollonia.
But for now, he simply watched her. She was a youthful being, kinda like him. He was older-she seemed like just a teen. But that was okay.
