Re: Crescent Valley
I laugh at some on these attacks of different schools that families and kids want too. People and families all have different priorities in life and that is life and America. We did the same thing when we transferred Taran to West Linn. It didn't work out for us (him winning a state title, due to injuries), but it was still the best move for us and we would never change any of that. Wrestling for Taran at West Linn was an absolute blessing, even without him reaching his goal. This has happened for years. Crook County in the past had several kids that wrestled for the youth club while living in Bend and when their kids became high school students they moved (legally) to Prineville. Marshfield has had kids transfer in (legally). For the families that it means that much to, who are you to question. Who wouldn't have wanted to wrestle for those awesome coaches.
I don't even have a kid in high school anymore but keep up with the sport because we love it. The families that I know that transferred to CV DID move and I applaud them for doing what they think is best for their kids. There is another amazing wrestling family that moved their stud to Newberg this year. Good for them. It's where they want to be and good for them for being able to do so.
If it means that much to the family and kid to put themselves in a spot they feel better and happier, good for them. This will never stop and shouldn't. Don't think this doesn't happen in OH, NJ and PA, where wrestling is much bigger than here. It absolutely does and it will work out for some. But for others it won't. That's life and America. not everyone gets to win. That's what we found out and still wouldn't change anything that we did. This is reality, sorry that many get butthurt over that. Not everyone in life wins and those lessons are just as great. Disappointing but great. That is what this sport is all about. Let your kids learn how to win and lose, not b###h about what they can't change.
