CV...the bad guys of Oregon wrestling?

I have said it before and I will say it again, my kid does not wrestle at CV, CV is not my team, my son and my team have to battle them just like everyone else. That being said, lets face reality. The reality is ever good story needs a bad guy and in the story of Oregon wrestling we have an "evil foe," a common foe, and it is in the form of the Crescent Valley Raiders. I promise you, these are not bad people. I honestly don't think this is a role they wanted or intended to have, this is a role we gave them and thankfully they play it out well. If you aren't following me yet, look at it like this. The NW Duals is one of my favorite wrestling events of the year and there is no doubt our common foe, those "evil" Raiders made it more fun this year. It didn't matter where you were in the facility or who you were watching, when a Raider went down yesterday the crowd went wild, it didnt even matter if it was one of their A listers, crowds formed, people were excited, people talked, it was interesting, it was good entertainment. Americans love an underdog, and the highly competitive Raiders certainly make the rest of us that. So when the Raiders hit the mat in state do we cheer for the other team, the underdog as it were, hell yes we do. But when the Oregon CV Raiders go out of state and kick butt on a much bigger stage, I would hope we all secretly cheer them on as well. Let's face it, on that stage Oregon is the underdog, they (CV) are the underdog, and when they are on THAT stage they are OUR Oregon Raiders and that my friends is something to be proud of!
