The larger cities have more population, more opportunity for Club wrestling an also more practice partners in the room to wrestle with vs a 1A/2A where there might be just one in each weight or several spaces between weights.
Look at the brackets of some of the tournaments that the small school attend and check the byes that are there.
Last year a wrestler went to State because only 5 guys in his weight and 1 got hurt. Didn't win a match but got to go, that is the down side of small schools.
Over the years the majority of State Champs at the 4-5-6 level are the Champs in the "after season" of wrestling, so it would be a disservice to the smaller schools like Crane to compete with Roseburg.
1-2-3 together for sure, 4-5 together, 6A.
Now how to level the "numbers" of TRUE STUDENTS at each school. Talley each student who attends, period. Then some schools will be moving up and some down, no variance for Football or Basketball, just pure numbers based on True Attendance!
