It all depends on the weight and who didn't qualify that earned an allocation. Kaylor deserved an at-large with his record, RPI, et. However, what happened with Kaylor is that there were 5 at-large bids. There were also 5 guys from various conferences who were ranked in the top 20 in the RPI (ahead of Kaylor) and had earned bids as well that were upset at their tournaments and did not get an automatic spot. One of them was Patrick McKee who was injured. 125 was a freak thing where you typically don't have that many guys who earned allocations and were top 20 RPI not qualify. Yes, I know Kaylor should have beat Disario - yep I agree. But you can't control upsets at other tournaments that determine at-large.
