J got hosed over by The U. He ain't done yet he still spends fathers day sleeping in a dorm room whileworking in the trenches. J has an ax to grind and is capable of giving us everything OSU needs. You have instant recognition, name pull and supporting staff. OSU would be competitive immediately with J and so dangerous. J would hunt down the Iows's and Minnesota's like the Vietnam warrior he was. Corvallis has similar livability as The Cities and local wrestling gets better with is camp franchise. A smart man makes this call and makes it happen.
1. Steiner. I know he is at Fresno but that city is a dump. There is more to life than work. Him, his wife and his kids need to live where ever he works and maybe they have a taste of culture i their bones beyond Applebees. I think that chilling in the summer off time in Corvallis is a bit more comfortable than Fresno. This guy was the wheels behind the machine when Z had his successes and has a nation wide grasp on talent.
2.Jake Varner. Maybe this guy is ready to get back to the west coast. He has name and has learned by working under the best CEO in the business currently on the job. He probably has some pull/ability to get an RTC up to speed. Do they have an RTC in Corvallis?? If they do it is not up to speed like the big dogs. 3 or 4 young assistant coaches is not enough in the room. Those paychecks should go to people who are co-head coaches with a bit more wisdom. A good RTC is what stocks a good college room with quality practice partners in their prime.
3. Damin Hahn. See Steiner. SoDak certainly is no hot spot for kulchure either. Ever live through a SD winter? Its not for the weak. Damion is an east coast guy and I am sure he has lots of contacts where wrestling is a lot tougher and deeper than these west coast softies. Ever try to talk a kid from Hoboken to move to South Dakota? I am sure that is a hard sell but coming to the west coast might be different. Instant recognition nationally with this guy and it would be an upgrade.
4. Roger Kish. Come hard at this guy hard if you are the boss. He already has shown he does a pretty good job at a school that is not top tier. Fargo aint exactly top on the livability list but it probably beats the places Steiner and Hahn live at. The biggest thing with Kish and Hahn is they learned from the best CEO in the business ever, Mr. J Robinson.
5. Lee Pritts. Have you ever seen this guy lead a clinic? Talk about high energy and excitement. Jesus he probably puts more energy into taking his taking his morning shit than Z expended his whole tenure in Corvallis. Dude has a nationwide Rolodex and he is a work-a-holic. His recruiting list throughout his career is pretty impressive Spent time under one of the best CEOs/program re-builders in Brian Smith. Obviously this guy is recently capable of poaching kids from California (Valencia). Kind of an under-dog here probably but I think he can get the job done.
