Back in the day the big schools went to U of Portland which is not in Portland per say.
Springfield and Thurston held State at did David Douglas... Oregon State held the tournament for all at one time. Why not U of Oregon??
As to the regions, I like the idea of a big 5A going 6A. Jefferson of Portland should not be a 6A school with only 545 students or Roosevelt with 702.
The other ideas are open for discussion.
As to Central Oregon in Feb/March... the eastern area schools travel in Dec, Jan, Feb to many locations and they do without the whining you heard out of the David Douglas,Reynolds, Clack, Cennt, schools when Hermiston was bumped up to 6A and was temporary put into that league. "To much travel on school nights", to costly, to dangerous, to "whatever"... yet LaGrande, Pendleton, Mac HI,Elgin, etc travel to Bend, to Ontario, to Boise, to Spokane, to Seattle, etc... Just because you have the population doesn't make your town ideal for having a State Tournament.
How about Salem for the bigger schools and Redmond for the smaller schools???
