Once again the only thing that makes wrestling relavant to OSAA is its profit generating state tournament. 80 percent of the population lives in this area so why the hell would they move it to Grants Pass.
There are plenty of hotels in Portland that arent 250 a night. Shoot i pay about. 200 to stay in Redmond for the classic. No one complains about price gouging there.
The reason people dont come to the finals who arent families strictly comes down to entertainment value. A 6 mat final round that takes 5 hours to comlpletd just isnt a competitive product. Things are so waterd down that the best rarely wrestle in the finals and with 6 matches going on with the lights on is pretty anti climatic. The toughest division to win in the state is the girls at this time.
The best move would be to cut down to 1 or maybe 2 classes. People would be butthurt about this too because it wouldnt be an issue for most of thr people complaining because their kids probably qualify for state.
