However, the people who should be most concerned are the people on the west side of the state, as their power rates will triple due to the coal plant shut down, that’s where the power is sent. And not only will their power rates go up but so will taxes because things like windmills are roughly 80% tax subsidized and don’t produce the same amount of power. So they have to build more but will cost us even more. Vicious cycle that will only make things worse. And never mind the rolling brown and black outs that Oregon will now start to experience because of no real reliable back up power.
