The state of oregon does not all have to follow the same rules according to USA wrestlings policies. They must adhere to the guidelines of what the local area (which in oregon is done by county) phase currently is. Benton county is currently in phase 2 while multnomah and clackamas county are in phase 1. If you are familiar with USA wrestlings guidelines you will see that neither one of these phases allows for group practice of any kind let alone contact. So as you can see anyone who holds a USA wrestling charter or coaches at a school who is having a full contact (or any type if practice indoors) are not following the rules that are in place.
Your liberal scapegoat Kate Brown actually has a more wide open stance on holding practice right now than your hometown hero Les Gutches.
Now these guidelines say nothing against having a social distant get togethers, check ins, so saying current regulations promote isolation are not completely true.
One of the jobs of a coach is to provide mentorship and a good example by following rules and policies regardless of whether they believe in them or not.
Who would of thought in one year that the Lamars working out in their garage as a family would become the picture of rule following!
