Re: It was the strippers
Thank you RhodeDog! Exactly, they don’t give you a blank checkbook to go out and spend. My experience is you don’t purchase much of anything without an accompanying signature from department officials. It’s disingenuous thinking to portray that some one was given a budget and then maliciously just decided to by pass said amount. Then have that as a reason to drop. The reality is they signed off on expenditures. Maybe they projected too low and figured out they had to spend more. That’s “ over budget” as far as what they may have estimated. It doesn’t mean the coach went and spent money he wasn’t permitted to. Big difference. As far as strippers go, I don’t think Troy Steiner has ever seen one himself let alone pay for or in any way condone young people taking part in such things in the recruiting process. Kids do things sometimes that would be better rethought. The guy has the highest character of pretty much anyone I’ve ever known in my life, and he deserved better. He will land on his feet, but the hurt and disappointment will last a bit. But the biggest part that will ache in Coach Steiner’s gut will be for the displaced athletes , alumni and community rather than himself. Because that’s who he is.
