As far as costs to travel to tournaments, that depends on where you are going. In state mostly you can drive. But out of state starts to get more expensive with hotels and plane tickets and meals. Tournament fees for this are generally at least $50-$125 depending on how many styles and days the tournament is.

For in-state wrestling, you pay for gas. Most youth tournaments entry cost is $20-$30 per kid. Along with that you purchase a small cooler of food (one that you may or may not be able to bring into the facility) that as a coach you end up sharing with your athletes who don't have any sometimes.

The cost is significant when you do this every weekend locally and much more so when you travel to the larger regional and national tournaments.
