Hang on, a study is not THAT stupid. Consider the next best alternative is synthetic fuel, which
costs 4- to 6-times more than regular jet fuel, there may be a legitimate niche market for ammonia. It all depends on the relative cost for a minimum performance threshold. No one can estimate the cost with any confidence without first building a prototype, adding up the $$$ for all the components, materials, manpower, etc. It may as well be NASA doing it. As long as some stupid politician doesn't try to foist it on everyone before all the costs are known, or deny people the right to choose after the costs are known.
