Double standard...
I remember not too many decades ago, this question was on the front page of virtually every newspaper for months... And some folks said that morality mattered, while others said it should be a personal matter for the wife so cheated upon to decide... I enjoy watching how folks emphasis changes. I saw a panel the other day discussing marriage and what it should mean, and when cheating is and isn't to be tolerated... With the religious aspects of marriage being de-emphasized in many cases, and the only thing being of import anymore is the civil agreement which can be modified at will, sexual fidelity may not even be required in some cases And one person on the panel pointed out that social status plays a huge role. People of an extremely high level social status have opportunities to cheat that others do not. And if an individual marries such a person, they may not reasonably be ABLE to expect sexual fidelity in that kind of marriage.
