Four years of income would be better. Or five. Like a car loan.
It was much more difficult back in my day (late 70s) to research the probable annual income of various careers. These days it's incredibly easy. If a kid is thinking about what to major in, and can't figure out what his probable income will be after graduation, and can't figure out whether or not he'll be able to afford a loan, then that's on him. Just astounding that we no longer expect borrowers to do their damn homework, when it's so incredibly easy to do.
