This seems pretty huge.

While there are likely plenty of jobs (like my current) that could be done from home 95% of the time, there are others that seem so much more collaborative and would benefit to in person discussion and/or contact. There's no way in my prior roles of product development that I could work outside of the office when collaborating with machinists while making & testing prototype medical devices. Not sure how you could bring in a new person into that type of role virtually with much success. But, I'm also old & come from and background of physical design & manufacturing, so what do I know. Previous Message And I think you're (collective you) lying to yourself if you think Zoom and Teams are more than marginal replacements. Previous Message Will begin outsourcing labor at an aggressive rate very shortly. I know this is an unpopular opinion but it will be ugly for the long term American experience if people don't go back to work in offices Previous Message return to the office 3 days a week. The logistics behind that are pretty insane for almost everyone involved. The pushback from the employees you can imagine is loud but also seems to be basically shouting at the clouds at this point. We have been told nonsensical corporate buzzwords like collaboration and culture of creativity etc etc. The only thing that makes any sense to me at all about the decision has to be some form of corporate tax break from some municipality somewhere. In a case of corporate greed trumping employee happiness. Does that make sense and have others seen that reasoning?
