My favorite part was Huey Lewis being still being star struck about the whole thing. * Archived Message

Previous Message One of the most enjoyable things I have watched on TCV in a long time, Hard to believe it was 40 years ago. Things I learned or had forgotten: 1. Stevie Wonder wanting some Swahili or other cultural impact lyrics 2. Waylon Jennings walking out because of #1. 3. Sheila E feeling like she was used to try and get Prince to show up (he didn't) 4. Huey Lewis getting Prince's solo line (and killing it) 5. The News (Huey Lewis' band) all being part of the chorus 6. Lots of Jacksons in the chorus but Janet was not there 7. The number of celebs that were not already in LA that flew in for the one-night event/recording (Springsteen most notable) 8. Al Jarreau being difficult 9. Bob Dylan being somewhat clueless 10. Missing celebs that should have been there (Madonna for one) 11. Bob Geldof being there and giving them an inspiring speech about the purpose of what they were doing 12. How the heck Smokey Robinson, Lindsey Buckingham, and Jeffrey Osborne didn't have a solo line 13. Lionel Richie may have been the biggest ball of energy ever 14. Quincy really is "The Dude" for putting it all together It is really a great watch and fun seeing some huge stars humanized.

- I don't understand why they couldn't have ended the documentary with an uninterrupted - Philo February 14, 2024, 11:39:19
- It’s outstanding. Dan Akroyd in the chorus was a little weird. I’m surprised MJ didn’t show - bbonb February 14, 2024, 11:37:52
