Re: Anonymous Letters to the AD
Unfortunately, given the litigious climate that we live in, even an anonymous letter may be enough to foment some now-obligatory investigation by the AD. After the investigator speaks with the coaching staff they will probably speak with the players. Usually, conduct alone, which can also be equally attributable to legitimate coaching decisions, unless it's egregious, is insufficient to keep an investigation percolating.(And it sounds like they may not even have that). Instead, they seize on particular comments attributable to a coach. They are looking for a repeat pattern, corroborated by multiple players. It is important, in my experience in such matters, that the players not underestimate the danger of these inquiries and work to put proper context into any supposed quotes (as typically there are some) they're just being misinterpreted or misconstrued. Apart from the legal context, as you already know, your daughter is going to have to work hard to prevent this from becoming divisive, although it sounds like perhaps that has already happened to some extent. Unfortunate.
