I recently bought a new V8 4 door truck . It has 420 hp fastest truck I ever owned . . I was surprised I got 22 mpg driving 70 mph using 87 octane . The next trip I take I will use 91 octane and check gas mileage then try the 94 octane for gas mileage . My last new truck I had a smaller engine and only got 16 mpg
I think the reason is the 10 speed transmission.
Anyway I like the new truck but it sure has a lot of buttons to push and a dash that resembles a jet aircraft. Does the extra octane really worth the extra money it cost ? Does it help your gas mileage? Does it help the performance? Well I will find out
