Some engines and made for low octane. Using higher octane just wastes money.

Some engines make more power with higher octane, then adjust themselves and make less power with lower octane.

I think the main difference will be the power, not the fuel economy.

If you want even better fuel economy, you could try driving slower.

10 speeds helps fuel economy, and maybe the truck is more aerodynamic than your old one.
