Back when American civilians spit on the military?

I've always been embarrassed for the population and the manner in which it allowed the media to form a narrative which labeled all soldiers 'killers'.

Viet Nam was a democrat war...sponsored by those like Dupont. I believe had JFK not been murdered, there would have been no Vietnam. Who knows?

On the other hand - our ancestors hung horse thieves right on the spot they were caught. The trial was a simple quorom. Not to be 'killers' but as a deterrent. Same with hanging pirate heads in the coves so those on incoming ships could get a visual on 'tough on crime' stances.

I doubt society has the stomach to do the hard things that are actually 'tough on crime'. Lawyers run amok. Or as you termed it "bleeding heart liberals". Those of the sixties take pride in the liberal label. Back in the days when independent thought was applauded.

Different now with the left, which insists on collectivism. Not the same as liberal. Hmmm - need more coffee this morning.
