The mapping of voting lines is the prerogative (generally) of the duly elected majority party. Suddenly when a duly elected president “orders” it, gerrymandering is bad.

This is just another rendition of a common theme espoused recently from progressive politicians:

“Democracy is good when our people win. It is bad when the other party wins.”

Or…

“We must destroy democracy to save it.”
