The battery will gradually lose range. My Tesla has over 125,000 miles and the battery still has about 90% of the original range. I expect the battery to last about 300,000 - 400,000 miles. Then it might be best to just buy a new car.

Battery will also lose range even when it's not being driven. Battery has a 8 year Warranty, and it has a claimed life of 20 years.

I think it's designed to last longer than the battery in a smartphone, but it will eventually lose range.
