The difference in winter infrastructure between places that seldom get a lot of snow and those that regularly get clobbered has never been more apparent to me than in Japan. The difference in snow competency between Tokyo and Sapporo...

I rather like those verses, actually (with the massive caveat being that I'm in no way at all a knowledgeable critic of poetry!). I tend to try an make melodies out of them, particularly when they have a rhyme scheme...which is not the point! When I make myself not do that, I'm better able to appreciate the content...and I think this one works. =)
