Of those c. 720k Bronze Stars awarded for service in Vietnam, 170,626 were accompanied by the "V" (valor in combat). Still a large number, but that's not the point. The point is that he was indeed a decorated combat veteran that Trump supporters (what's left of 'em) pissing on. It's distasteful to people whose respect for such veterans is actually stronger than their devotion to a politician.

So an operation months (if not years) in the planning happened within a week of a new FBI director taking office. That does indeed speak for itself...but I don't think it's saying what you're implying it does.
