Public education is not socialist per se, but in its current form is a great example of the failure of collectivist ideals. Most people are surprised to learn that “free” public schooling is one of the “Ten Planks” (key tenets) of the Communist Manifesto. In the US it is a battle between parents who want a good education for their kids and the politicians who are constantly begging for more taxpayer money while student achievement continues to deteriorate. Luckily Americans have a choice of better private schools that are more interested in kids than paying and retaining terrible teachers.

Forcing people to get COVID shots or be fired is a great example of tyranny and should be avoided in the future. Medical autonomy is an important characteristic of free societies.

Free college education has done nothing to “improve the country.” It has inflated the cost of a secondary education making it unaffordable for millions of students.

Central planning, the suppression of individual freedom, and other characteristics of socialism have a proven track record of failure throughout history.

We don’t have to guess. History proves that socialism only brings misery.
