Amiga was the follow on behind the Commodore-64, as I recall, but never caught on, at least here in the States. Probably would have done a lot better in the marketplace if developers had supported it with a broader tranche of software, but by then (mid-to-late 1980s) IBM/Microsoft was sort of accepted as the benchmark. My recollection was that Amiga was targeted at desk-top publishing crowd, but that might be mistaken. Between the PC and Apple's first-gen MAC, Amiga just never got enough traction. It seems like freakin' forever ago.
