There was some brilliant software mostly targeting animation and music (DeLuxe Paint and DeLuxe Music)
but there was a lot more if you knew where to look.
In the UK it took off like a rocket as all those like myself who had had their appetites whetted by the Speccy immediately saw what the Amiga could do.
Forget Commodore they had little to do with it, it was designed by Jay Miner who also designed the three custom chips that make it fly.
It was a quantum leap in computer power for 1985 and several years to come, I madean animation of the world turning complete with continents and cloud cover, plus narration audio and background music and took it to NASA at Wallops island who offered me a summer internship on the strength of it.
