Scotrail are re-nationalising so maybe that's the way to go when at the moment rail travel in private hands is so damn expensive.
A return flight to Dublin from around here can be had for less than £30 with Ryanair doing it one way for less than a tenner, yet a one way train trip to the midlands is £70!
I think I remain stuck in the past with my trainspotting memories and love of the L.N.E.R's conjoined brother the great northern, as modern stock has no attraction for me, and the prices just to get from a to b mean rail travel here is no longer the cheap practicality it once was.
