To me, all of the above are just chunks of time wasted when I could be doing something constructive or getting some chore or another out of the way that needs done so I can do something constructive.
In India, there is a delightful concept called "time-pass". If something is a pastime, its higher on the scale, a recreational activity that give some sort of satisfaction as a result. Flip the words and you have time-pass; a waste of time that isn't annoying might be the best definition to us. "How was the film?" "Meh, it was time-pass".
I tried computer games when my son was giving them a go. I found them a waste of time and couldn't get interested at all. Oddly, the genre didn't have much staying power with him, either. Some few appealed to him as long as there were levels to achieve but, once understood, they never got a revisit. The few he explored eventually bored him, I believe.
Me? Nothing that attracted me to invest any time. I must be mentally ill; I just don't get them.
