I intend to not neglect the Club and those I regard highly. Depending on the day as this goes forward, it might be a very brief go (in the morning over coffee or during breaks).
You have an excellent eye. The trackage is indeed Peco for the most part. I really like the reliability of their points. I remember Jon well and we still are in touch. He's another old NCO, his first enlistment a Marine and now retired from the Army.
I enjoyed the first tile of your story; looking forward to more.
I did take a break yesterday to shoot over to a mate's workshop; he does watch and clock repairs. He had this lovely Hamilton 50 Railroad Special he just finished up for me as a new addition to my little collection of railroad timekeepers.
Its very interesting as it is electro-mechanical, a battery powered drive replaced the mainspring; from then on a standard hairspring mechanical. The accuracy advantage was a constant force applied rather than the winding down of the mainspring. They didn't last in the marketplace very long, as the tuning fork oscillator watch came along in only a couple years time, itself overshadowed just as quickly by the quartz oscillators of today.
