I've gotten email from "lurkers" who know me, arguing the withholding of my vote is somehow "unpatriotic" or at least it is seen as "giving up". Make your own conclusions; I frankly don't care.

This apparently is a contentious position.

So, for the sake of clarity, if one candidate stands for my principles and the other does not, the one gets my vote. That is its purpose.

If neither stand for my beliefs, neither gets my vote. Its that simple.

"Unpatriotic"? "Giving up?" Sorry. Its a very practical and sane position we would do well if more gave it intelligent thought.

Democracy was not built on the notion that, when presented two steaming piles of excrement, one is required to pick one.
