Americans seem to look down their noses, I guess because kits and supplies in brass, styrene, and wood are so plentiful.
I very much enjoy working in paper and even mingle it with other mediums pretty freely; there are a lot of paper models and mingles on the current model railway.
In that overhead station scene (Thanks very much for the kind words) all the brick and stone foundation work from the platforms to the bridge supporting the headhouse is foamcore laminated with paper.
I strongly agree with you about its merits!
