I think I've mentioned before that, like yourself, I have a warm spot for the "underdog" aircraft.
The Hurricane and the thunderbolt especially. Two old pugilists who I imagine looking at the enemy and snarling "Right my son have some of this!"
I seem to recall reading that even D. Bader preferred his Hurricane as a gun platform to the spit'.
The Warhawk I believe was used over here in the wars early stages and I have to admit I tended to side with those who wrote it off due to its lack of high level performance and I thank you for putting me straight re this aircraft.
I did see the Lysander but for some strange reason it didn't resonate as it wasn't in its familiar drab colour.
The string-bag has a place in our local history as quite a few of them were made in a shadow factory just up the road a while from my home along with the Lancasters built at an underground factory at Yeadon Aerodrome, complete will false grass and concrete cows for realism!
I did say I have little truck with modern aircraft but should qualify it by saying that all the early jet aircraft I find very interesting and did notice the static Mig15 and what I thought was a Shooting Star in the second video.
All in all a pleasant afternoons viewing.
