The P40 in its guises of Tomahawk, Warhawk, &c was a solid performer as a weapon. Both the RAF and the USAAF understood its prowess in forward areas in hellish conditions, the Western Desert and again in the North African invasion, in the jungles of Burma, New Guinea, the Solomons, up in Alaska. Sure, a P51 could fly rings around it at altitude but could never survive in those environmental extremes, hence my belief the P40 the better weapon. At the lower altitudes most combat was flown at in the Pacific especially, it (and the P39) could more than hold its own whilst being far more able to absorb damage than its adversaries. There is more to an aircraft than speed and turn-rate in making it a weapon.
On that MiG 15, it wasn't static. Other vids in that series show two of them, plus a MiG 17, a 21 and a 29 in flight several times during the week. The last two are flown by contractors providing OpFor services to the Navy and Air Force.
I saw at least two Shooting Stars in the series as well, one a F80 and the other a two-seat T33 trainer. I like seeing the early jets starting to get some attention in the same manner as the WWII warbirds.
