I have signs at the door regarding where to leave packages, and a nice place out of sight and out of the weather is provided. Every other delivery service is more than happy to put their deliveries in the safe place provided.
Not FedEx. No matter how many times I register a complaint, they toss the packet on the property, photograph it as their "proof of delivery" and scuttle away. They won't use the enclosed porch but chuck it out in the open, and won't even bag it during inclement weather.
I've protested over and over, but they are firm in their actual denial of the responsibility to place packages where customers want them, of the responsibility to protect from weather, and to follow instructions to prevent theft. It isn't a case of forgetting or being in a hurry, its an actual stated refusal expressed by their "customer support" people, and a denial of any responsibility for damage or loss due to their own policies.
I will not ship by FedEx and I actively discourage anyone sending me anything via FedEx to the point of cancelling a purchase if the seller insists on using them.
They are a poster child of what is wrong with ecommerce and the post customer-is-valued era we live in today. As far as I'm concerned, they are carriers in the same manner that fleas are carriers of Plague.
