On thing that annoys me is the population here has been brainwashed into only shopping price; comparison shopping, they call it. They've not been educated to look for quality at all, so the cheaper garbage forces quality items out of the marketplace.
A good example is tools. Cheap shiny tools are everywhere, so cheap and shoddy they are dangerous. If you want good quality tools you have to buy used, simply because cheap Chinese shitte has flooded the marketplace and priced anything decent out entirely.
I'm fortunate to have a workshop full of older workman's grade tools rather than shiny but cheap harry-homeowner trash, but that comes with the need to keep a stock of extras bought at boot-sales and jumbles because decent stuff simply is no longer made.
It took a long time to get my wife to stop believing the cheapest was the best value, and even now she slips back into that fallacy. Buy a household item for $5 that only lasts a year or $15 that lasts for five. She still can't quite grasp which is better value for money, she has been so brainwashed to believe its the cheaper.
