Compared to the originals, much heavier, and that six-speed Getrag forever destroyed my ability to say, "I never met a manual gearbox I didn't like." How anyone would have put their name on that horrid gearbox with pride is beyond me.
All the tech and over-complexity any poser would want. Having owned both, the "New Mini" was a huge disappointment. An absolute pig of a car with no feel whatsoever, the very thing to laud in the motoring press whilst taking a break from likewise worshipping the MX-5.
I'm glad I could trade it in on my wife's Sub'y, or it wouldn't have been much longer before I just burned the dam thing and toasted sausages on a stick over its glowing carcass.
