It seems a bit odd issuing a statin without any cardio problems (I assume?) Unless like myself it is a preventative thing.

I've been on them for a number of years and have discovered not all statins are born equal with each different variety having different effects on ones system.

I was on simvastatin until the NHS issued a warning to GPs about serious interactions with the blood pressure meds I am on and switched me to atorvastatin which does the job just nicely.

I understand that medics either side of the pond do things differently but if the one you are on at present isn't up to snuff insist on a different one.
