Still some tuning to do but the various bits are now installed.
You can see the case is fully vented and the great stonking side-draught Weber. You can't see the set of roller-rockers that seriously reduce valve-train friction and give a modest increase in lift.
Previously installed is a header to improve flow out though I think I want to revisit exhaust diameter once the carb jetting is tweaked a bit.
Two things very noticeable; the engine is far smoother which is easier on the main-bearings even though power is up. Second, there is far more top-end available both because of the bit more horsepower and better valve-train behaviour; increased precision and reduced friction.
Things to work on; the pump jets might be too small in diameter as acceleration is still a bit flat. Smooth but a little anaemic.
I love doing this sort of thing, though the method is much different from the typical American brutality approach. Here, mechanical smoothness, good torque utilisation, and good case pressure mitigation are as desirable as horsepower. A balance of these qualities is far more desirable than getting the maximum horsepower out of it and dam the consequences; the difference between "breathing on it" and hotrodding it.
We're on our way!
