However I do concur with this sentiment from your post.
Quote..
" Does it herald a new lawlessness in America, historically a more violent, emotional, self-identified, crude, cowboy-town of a culture through its history? I don't think so, but more of a reaction to the angst artificially created first by the Tea Party of the '90s and now stirred to a fine froth by this man seeking power and his disciples who follow him...."
Touching on your "Cowboy town" analogy, I have to say that I have never quite understood the "right to bear arms" thing for private citizens as I always believed it to be an 18th century local militia thing in order to keep the peace rather than something that legally allows the Hanks, Bubbas and other associated brain dead to posses the kind of fire power a garrison would blanch at.
If I'm in error for thinking this I apologise in advance and would welcome any clarification from your part.
Whilst the things I truly admire re the US are far too long to list here I do find that for such an advanced first world nation it's preoccupation with firearms and the terrible manifestation of things such as school shootings, people murdered at festivals et al, followed by the "lessons will be learned" bleating from furrowed browed politicians, makes the US seem more like a lawless banana republic or Eastern bloc country rather than a democratic world leader.
Please do not take offence in my observation be it ever so erroneous. To paraphrase Sir Thomas Moore, "I do non harm I say none harm, I think none harm", but I think we are robust enough to discuss such thoughts without straying into the marsh-ground that is a nations politics if only for our own edification.
