My two cents...20%-25% of the U.S. population is anti-social and relishes a bit of cruelty, all piled on top of an overwhelming sense of entitlement. The orange guy counts himself among them and has made these notions fashionable. If he exits the picture tomorrow, the 20%-25% remain, their sensiblities just receding into the background where they've resided for many generations. Unfortunately, they found their voice largely through the scourge of "social media"; I fear there's no putting it back into the American box now.
