I well remember a few coins in the pocket and trying to choose one of the poly-bag kits from Airfix or Frog.

I still enjoy building the classics, maybe not so much the modern offerings which are more detailed and more accurate perhaps, but the old standards from my youth; Airfix and Frog, then Revell, Lindberg, Hawk, Aurora, and Monogram here.
