Not being on your side of the water and having little understanding of how things work over there, I do find myself however concurring with Sarge's thoughts on why do stay in the locale that you do.

Do you not still own your previous property which, from what I could discern by conversations here, was more amicable as a dwelling?

I also have to admit to being astonished that a first world country such as the US could leave a pensioner in crippling dire circumstance due to nothing more than an empty wallet, surely the local medical authorities are not that evil?

Perhaps the oath that US medical practitioners take should be changed from "I promise to do no harm" to
" I promise to do no harm to those with a hefty bank account, to the rest I promise nothing."

Perhaps I've been spoiled by the N.H.S which for all its supposed faults has never left me in agony and struggling to survive.
