The Legacy Outback estate was sold in the UK; James May the one who created the stereotype of the "old-money" landed gentry type who bought one for the head gardener then decided to keep it for himself to use about the estate whilst wearing tweeds and wellies, often with the dog riding along, and never to be traded but handed down with the title to the next generation.





The Forester was there, too. It now is a crossover SUV, but in the years mine was built a small estate, simple, robust, AWD, smaller than the Leg Outback. In the UK it would be what His Lordship bought the gardener after he decided to keep the Leg estate for himself.

Then again, there was the version that combined the WRX Imprezza drivetrain into the Forester. I don't know if this version was sold here, but I'd love one.
